Sankar is a technology enthusiast at heart and an architect by profession. He works on next generation IT strategies and software solutions for cloud, cyber security, big data, mobility etc.,

His strength is in his in-depth understanding of computer algorithms, data sciences, architecture, artificial intelligence and breadth in technology / tool-sets, capability to program in more than 18 different languages in object, procedural, functional paradigms, coupled with agile practices.

He spends time exploring and building software systems on next generation / advanced technologies. Some of his fascinations includes augmented reality & Computer Vision, Machine-machine communication, Cognitive intelligence.

He holds an experience of working with various IT Service companies spanning from starts to big MNCs with employee count of 50000+, at various levels handling responsibilities like architecting and designing complex technical solutions, helping customers in defining & managing IT landscapes and application portfolios across different business functions, taking ownership of technical engagement management, building team competencies, building and managing strategic accounts, managing big IT programs & portfolios, etc.

His other interests include Cosmology, Ancient Knowledge, Quantum Physics and God Theory

He love spending his free time with his kids builds all sort of Do It Yourself stuff using Rasberry Pi.

Sankar is currently working as Sr. Principal Technologist with Computer Sciences Corporation. He is responsible for identification, exploration of next generation technology disruptions. He acts as an technology and architecture advisory to various CSC IP development initiatives and customer accounts. He actively participates in innovation initiatives and pre-sales.

Effective Pattern Identification Model for DDoS Attack Detection

Abstract: Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks are one of the major challenges to Internet community. Attackers send legitimate packets with often changing information from various compromised systems at random and at a very high frequency, rendering the target non-responsive for normal traffic. DDoS attacks are difficult to detect with traditional detection methods and standard Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). Standard IDS tries to analyze the network traffic or system logs trying to identify emerging patterns on the network traffic. But due to randomness of the package origins it is difficult segregate true, false positive and normal traffic. This paper proposes a model based on Artificial Neural Networks to identify anomalies and detect DDoS patterns.
